The ABV Credential is exclusively granted by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants to qualified CPAs. To earn the ABV Credential, candidates must meet minimum qualification requirements, which are based on successfully passing the ABV Examination and meeting minimum valuation-related business experience and education requirements:
Holders of the ABV credential are required to stay up to date on business valuation methodologies and valuation related tax and economic issues by attending 60 hours of continuing education courses every three years.
Derek has lectured on various financial and tax subjects for the California Judicial Council, the Child Support Director’s Association, sections of the Riverside County Bar Association, at Mt. San Jacinto College, and for trade associations, investment companies, and local service clubs. He is a former member of the planning committee for the California CPA Foundation’s Family Law Conference.
Derek holds a Certificate of Educational Achievement in business valuation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
